Mini Kick Scooter Review

Micro Mini Kick ScooterThe Mini Kick Scooter is designed for kids ages 3 to 5.  What makes the mini unique is its ‘lean-and-steer’ design, which allows children to use their body weight to control the steering, giving them the feeling of ‘surfing’ the sidewalk, as they curve from right to left, almost like a skateboard.

Micro Mini Kick Scooter

The lean-and-steer adds an element of fun and control that young children love. This is great for their balance and coordination.

The Mini Kick Scooter was developed with youngsters in mind, with three wheels to provide greater stability to keep the rider from falling over and making it easier for even the youngest kids to learn to ride. There is also a back brake low ground clearance for safety.

The Mini Kick Scooter can be ridden inside as well as outside, because the polyurethane wheels don’t leave black marks on the floor. The deck of the mini is low-to-the-ground and large enough for both feet, making it easy for young children to hop on and off and to switch from pushing, to just enjoying the ride.

Here’s what one of the owners had to say about the Mini Kick Scooter:

If you are looking for a scooter your preschooler will LOVE, will last a good long time, and something sturdy and safe, this is the scooter. This scooter is lower to the ground than any I’ve seen, which makes it easy for the kids to ride. The two wheels in front make for great stability and maneuvering. I cannot tell you HOW MANY parents have seen my kids on their scooters and sidled up to us to ask about them. (Ron B)

BEST SCOOTER for TODDLER We originally pick up a scooter at walmart for our 3 yr old daughter – dont remember the name brand – see picture of pink scooter. It was stiff, hard to steer and the wheel were hard plastic that didnt roll smooth. The brake cover was hard plastic that my daughter couldnt step on hard enough to stop, so she would have to jump off or run into something to stop. Our neighbor’s got this scooters for their girls (2 and 4)…. and our daughter not just loved it – but easily rode it!The steering is by leaning – so it took a couple times for the girls to figure out to use their weight and lean into the direction they wanted to go.But the wheels are super smooth and roll over most surfaces; the girls ride scooters to and from each house in the yard. Most importantly – the brake! The brake is activated by stepping on the stopper and applying pressure to back wheel. Stopping is simple and SMOOTH – the girls dont fall off or fall over the handlebars – even when trying…

Brake designed to fall off unexpectedly Originally, I LOVED this scooter. We’ve had three or four of them. My son, now 4, got his first two years ago and adores it.However, two months ago, the brake came off seconds before my son went down a fairly steep hill. He was trying to slow down but was putting his foot where the brake should be and couldn’t stop. Finally he bailed off the scooter, but it took him a while to figure out that he had to do that. Giving the scooter the benefit of the doubt, I ordered another one. Today as we were riding down the sidewalk, not going fast or doing anything strange, on a scooter only TWO MONTHS OLD, the brake just fell off again. Thank goodness both times my son was fine and wasn’t needing to stop for a car or the end of a block.I just spoke with the company and although they were very helpful and assured me that the brake could be easily replaced, they also told me that this is very likely to happen due to the way it’s constructed. They believe that children…
