Razor Jr. Folding Kiddie Kick Scooter Review

The Razor Jr. Folding Kiddie Kick Scooter is designed for kids aged 3 to 6 so they can now be as cool as the older kids, although at a slower speed. Ready to grow: studies suggest that children at age 3 have the coordination required to use a wheeled scooter, but may not have developed the balance required to operate 2-wheeled scooters.

What customers say about the Razor Jr. Folding Kiddie Kick Scooter

There were lots of positive reviews for this kick scooter. For example this reviewer stated the base is made out of plastic, but has a metal frame underneath, making it very sturdy. I have even ridden on it briefly (160 lbs), with no harm to the scooter. Everything else is metal and very similar to the full-sized Razor scooters. This adds to the form factor and makes little ones feel even cooler because it looks like a “big kid” scooter.

Another reviewer mentioned granted it does not go fast, nor does it have the maneuverbility of the older kids’ scooters, but my son is happy. He wanted his very own scooter and now he has it. There is no need for him to go fast or attempt to do any tricks. While the older kids are whizzing down the block he is right next to me putzing around, happy as can be. Also, my four year old will occasionally get off of his Razor A and get on the kiddie scooter.

This reviewer said it has been ridden on the street, the sidewalk, the kitchen floor and it has not had a single problem. It is quiet and solid and works as advertised. I was worried that it would be too difficult for a 4yr old to ride, but the 3rd wheel is just what she needed. This is a recent revision and includes a nifty feature: it folds up.

While this reviewer stated the fact that it folds for easy storage and carriage is great, especially if you have a small living space. It doesn’t roll too fast, so it’s great for little ones.

Top Heavy Scooter I purchased this for my 3 year old daughter. She watches her brother and sister riding their Razor scooters around the driveway and has enjoyed a ride on them as well (she stands on one and we push her around). We bought her this scooter hoping that she could soon join her brother and sister. The issue with the scooter is that the base is too light as it’s made of plastic. This makes it very top heavy and is prone to tipping over when the child is learning to use it. I am sure that in time, she will master this and eventually be ready for a standard two-wheel scooter. I would have preferred a metal base.Having said that, I like the look of the scooter. It looks like a little girls scooter and other than the base, is well constructed. In time any child will love this scooter. It has a cheaper feel than traditional Razor scooters due to the plastic base.

I ordered two of these scooters, and while they … I ordered two of these scooters, and while they are both functional, the bottom portion of the platform on both scooters did not snap together properly to the top portion. I called the manufacturer, and they said that I would have to return them both to Amazon even though the instruction manual said not to return them to the seller. Since I needed them both as Christmas presents for my granddaughters, I used hot glue to secure the gap in the platform. Please see the attached photos.
